in the picture sergio bejar

My name is Sergio Béjar and I’m from Barcelona. My interest in photography began many years ago. My first camera was a Samsung compact analog with which I became interested especially in landscapes and people. Today I don’t leave home without my Reflex, you never know what can happen. I used to photograph street people, landscapes and details of everyday life, always trying to give a personal touch. By 2010 I won an annual award of a magazine with a picture of a homeless man in NY. For me it is more than a hobby, it is a passion and someday I would like to exhibit my photographs in a gallery.
We’d like to thank Sergio for sharing his photos. For more of his work please visit his website or Flickr page.

formula one 2011 belgian grand prix

The Belgian Grand Prix is held on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, one of the few in the world which EVERY driver loves to race at. Fast corners, long straights, nice elevation and the weather always plays it’s part. Qualifying was held in wet condition which started to dry out towards the end, basically the man who managed to get round at exactly the right moment would be on pole position. This man was once again Sebastian Vettel. On race day the weather played no part, but the blistering tires did. After some early dicing with Rosberg in his Mercedes Vettel pulled out a lead over Alonso and Hamilton. Hamilton crashed, Alonso started to slow in the final third of the race and Vettel stayed in P1 untill the chequered flag fell. Webber and Button took the remaining two podium places.

Libya: The fight continues

Of the six days since the revolt reached the capital of Tripoli, August 25th may have been the bloodiest yet. Evidence of fresh massacres by both sides around the city were reported, while the battle to establish full control of Colonel Khadafy's breached compound, Bab al-Aziziya, raged on. By late afternoon, the fighting had once again swamped Tripoli Central Hospital with wounded civilians and combatants. The wall finally came down at the beginning of November in 1989, part of the reunification of East and West Germany. Here are images from this past weekend’s recognition of the construction of the wall 50 years ago, as well as historic images. -- Lloyd Young (30 photos total)
